Ophy, my furry soulmate and Jim’s feline best friend, isn’t feeling so well these days. We’re pretty worried about her, so please keep your fingers (and paws) crossed that she gets better. 🙁

Aw. Sad. Violet, Henri, Leo, and Annabel send all their kitty-get-well wishes to Ophie. Even Rowan pitched in and wagged her wishes for getting better…and she’s a DOG. Seriously, though, hope things improve for the girl. It’s so worriesome when cats aren’t feeling well; it’s not like they can tell you what’s wrong. (unlike dogs. :)) Crossing fingers, toes, and eyes and sending positive vibes your way.
Healing thoughts for Ophy.
My friend Bob has a cat who was diagnosed with kidney failing (not yet failed) and thyroid issues. He had to feed her a special food and put medical cream on her ears. Yet she’s still around at age 18. I hear her yowling when he calls me from Canada. Always sad when we realize our friends won’t always be around, though.
Thanks, Liz – we’re going to try a treatment tomorrow which will hopefully work over the weekend. If it doesn’t…sad days ahead in our household. 🙁
Oh, 🙁 Abs. Crossing everything even more and sending lots and lots of extra good thoughts your and Ophie’s way. I hope the treatment works.
Thanks to both of your for your loving support of Ophy!!
Ophy update: the vet gave her a shot of Baytril (the antibiotic of choice for kidney infections), a shot of steroids, and subcutaneous fluids. Jim and I will continue the shots of Baytril for three days. If she’s better in three days, we’ll know she had a kidney infection. If she’s not better, then she has cancer and we’ll have to put her to sleep. Dr. Reiner clearly thinks this is cancer, though, as she said upon leaving today, “A miracle would be nice…”
And a little plug here for our fabulous vet, Dr. Reiner of The Katmobile. She’s fantastic and caring. http://www.thekatmobile.com/
Please help us in hoping for a miracle for our dear Ophy cat.
