Ok, I confess, last weekend I wrote about a lot of books that I was going to read over the holiday.\u00c2\u00a0 I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t read them last week.\u00c2\u00a0 Between the Christmas Eve-Eve party, the Christmas Eve church service, some last minute shopping, and our extended Christmas Day travels, we just weren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t home very much last weekend.<\/p>\n

So the plan was to do lots of reading this weekend.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Sunday; how am I doing so far?\u00c2\u00a0 Not so good!\u00c2\u00a0 One of Jim\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s childhood friends came by yesterday with his wife (he and Jim had a fabulous jam session together), we had dinner with Jim\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mom and Bob yesterday evening, and, of course, I snuck in a little shopping at the Warehouse Store in Maynard, which is sadly going out of business.\u00c2\u00a0 No reading yesterday.\u00c2\u00a0 Today, a sleepy start by the fire with coffee cake and tea with honey, then food shopping, a walk, and soon a second walk.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a beautiful day, and I can only get outside on the weekends (we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not allowed to leave the library building during our working hours, and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s dark and cold when I leave work in the winter).\u00c2\u00a0 Got to take advantage of my outdoor time.<\/p>\n

Trying to fit a social life and outdoor time and chores into my limited out-of-work hours leaves very little time for reading, though of course reading is at the heart of my career.\u00c2\u00a0 I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have a solution to this problem; I only know that, as much as I love my job, I need to nurture the other aspects of my life, too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
